Every premium voice model has its own price. More expensive models use more of your plan credits for the same text, so the same plan goes further on a cheaper model.
How credits work

What a credit is
A credit is a small unit of your plan's premium-voice allowance. Paid plans get a set number of credits for every rolling 30 days.

Standard voices: 0 credits
The 54 Standard voices never use credits. They count toward your plan's monthly character allowance instead.

Premium voices spend credits
Voices from Microsoft, xAI, Mistral, HeyGen and others are paid from credits, at the rate in the table below.

Cost scales with length
Every character counts, spaces and punctuation included. Twice the text costs twice the credits on the same model.

Worked example
A 5,000-character script (about 6 minutes of speech) costs 3,500 credits on Orpheus 3B and 11,000 credits on MAI-Voice 2.1. With a Standard voice it costs 0 credits and uses 5,000 of your monthly characters.
