Overview

FreeTextoSpeech ("we", "our", "us"), operated by Bipul Kumar in India, runs the website freetexttospeech.net (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the cookies we and our partners set, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Text input: When you use the cloud text-to-speech tool, the text you enter is sent to our servers and to our speech provider to generate audio. We do not permanently store your text or the generated audio. Text is processed in real time and discarded after the audio is delivered to your browser. When you use the in-browser (on-device) engine, your text never leaves your device.

Speech-to-text uploads: When you use Audio to Text, Free Speech to Text, or MP3 to Text, the selected audio is sent through our server to Groq for transcription. We do not store the audio or transcript. When you use our shared service, we retain limited usage metadata to enforce daily limits and prevent abuse.

Usage and log data: Like most websites, we collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages and tools used, and timestamps to keep the Service stable, apply fair-use limits and prevent abuse.

Optional accounts: Core tools work without an account. If you sign in, we store your email address and display name to keep your session active.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to provide and operate the Service, generate requested audio, enforce fair usage limits, maintain system security, and analyze aggregate traffic trends.

Cookies and Advertising

We use cookies to maintain your preferences and active sessions. Third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your prior visits.

Data Retention and Security

Text you enter and the audio we generate are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers. Audio files you upload for transcription are not stored either.

Usage records (tool used, characters or audio length, time) are kept so we can apply usage limits and see aggregate trends. The IP address in these records is removed after 90 days.

If you sign in, your email address, display name and saved settings (such as pronunciations and reading progress) are kept while your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. Payment and plan records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

We use standard industry security practices, including encrypted HTTPS connections, to protect your data.

Who Receives Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, each for the purpose listed:

Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, security and our database. DeepInfra: generating cloud speech from your text when our own servers are busy. Groq: transcribing audio you upload for speech to text. Google: optional Google sign-in, Google Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics, and Google AdSense for ads. Lemon Squeezy (and previously Gumroad): payments for paid plans.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the Service and its users from fraud or abuse.

Your Choices and Controls

You can use the core tools without an account, and you can choose the on-device engine so your text never leaves your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

You can unsubscribe from product emails at any time from the link in the email or from your dashboard.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account and personal data by emailing blog.boopul@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.

FreeTextoSpeech Plugin for ChatGPT

Our ChatGPT plugin turns a script you write in ChatGPT into a link to freetexttospeech.net. The script, voice and speed travel in the part of the link after the # sign, which your browser does not send to our servers when the page loads.

We do not receive your ChatGPT conversations or account information. Your script reaches our servers only when you press Generate on our site, and it is then handled exactly as described above. Your use of ChatGPT itself is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy.

Payments

Paid plans are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment details, billing address, and tax information under its own privacy policy (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). We never see or store your full card details.

Lemon Squeezy shares with us the information needed to provide your plan: your email address, country, the plan purchased, and transaction and subscription status. We use it only to activate your plan, handle refunds and support, and keep required business records.

Purchases made earlier through Gumroad were processed by Gumroad, which shares similar sale details with us under its own privacy policy.
