Fix how a word is said

Add a word the voice gets wrong and spell it the way it should sound. The fix is used every time you generate, and your script stays exactly as you typed it. Saved in this browser only.

Source files are parsed locally. In Cloud mode, only the selected text sections are sent for speech generation. In-browser mode keeps both the source and generated speech on this device.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

    01

How do I convert an EPUB to audio?

Upload the EPUB directly. FreeTextoSpeech reads its spine, extracts the chapters in book order, and builds an editable narration queue before generating the audio.
    02

Can I convert a whole EPUB book in one go?

The importer loads the book spine and prepares chapter sections automatically. Choose the chapters that fit your current cloud character allowance, or use the in-browser engine when signed in; the studio can join completed sections for you.
    03

What's the best way to extract text from an EPUB?

Calibre is free and excellent: import the EPUB, right-click → Convert books → choose TXT as the output format. You'll get a clean plain-text version of the whole book, chapter by chapter.
    04

Can I use this to listen to free public-domain books?

Yes, that's one of the best uses for it. Project Gutenberg offers thousands of free EPUBs. Pair them with FreeTextoSpeech and you've got a free audiobook library.
    05

Is the audio free to keep?

Yes. The WAV files you download are yours to keep, transfer to any device, and use for personal listening. Commercial audiobook production is also allowed.
