Fix how a word is said

Add a word the voice gets wrong and spell it the way it should sound. The fix is used every time you generate, and your script stays exactly as you typed it. Saved in this browser only.

Source files are parsed locally. In Cloud mode, only the selected text sections are sent for speech generation. In-browser mode keeps both the source and generated speech on this device.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

    01

How do I convert a Word document to speech?

Upload the .docx directly. FreeTextoSpeech splits it into editable sections you can review, then generates a combined WAV or MP3 as well as separate files for each section.
    02

Will it read headings, bullets and formatting correctly?

Yes, the engine reads the text content as it appears. Headings and bullets are spoken as normal sentences. Tables, footnotes and track-changes markup can disrupt the flow, so clean up the text first if you want a polished result.
    03

What if the document is longer than 5,000 characters?

The importer automatically uses headings and natural paragraph breaks to create manageable sections. Select only what you need – the studio shows your total character count against your current cloud allowance before you generate.
    04

Can I use this to proofread my writing?

Yes, and it's one of the best uses. Hearing your draft read back highlights awkward phrasing, missing words and sentence rhythm issues that the eye glosses over.
    05

Does this work for Google Docs too?

Yes. Download the document from Google Docs as a .docx and upload it, or paste selected text into the editor if you only need part of a document.
